Hundreds of flights headed in and out of Denver International Airport were delayed on Wednesday as high winds gusted through Colorado.
As of 3:45 p.m., 804 flights had been delayed and five had been canceled, according to flight tracking software FlightAware.
At that time, a wind-fueled ground delay issued by the Federal Aviation Administration was delaying flights by an average of 92 minutes, according to the federal agency.
Southwest delayed 286 flights on Wednesday, followed by 246 from United, 176 from SkyWest, 24 from Frontier, 19 from Delta and 16 from American Airlines, according to FlightAware. Seven other airlines delayed between one and nine flights.
