‘80s Pop Star Announces Return to Australia for the First Time in 36 Years

It’s been close to four decades since pop star Debbie Gibson took to the stage in Australia, but the “Lost in Your Eyes” singer will soon make her triumphant return to Oz.

The singer, who rose to fame as a teenager in the 1980s with a string of pop anthems like “Foolish Beat,” garnering industry acclaim for writing and producing her own music, including a 1989 ASCAP Songwriter of the Year nod, took to social media today to share the news with her fans.

“OMG !!! I’m heading back to Australia,” the singer started the caption of a video before noting that it will be “for the first time since 1989.” Gibson’s last Australian show before this upcoming tour took place on December 7, 1989, in Brisbane.
