Metallica is set to rock Las Vegas in a major way.
After months of widespread speculation, Metallica — the biggest Bay Area band of all time — has finally announced that it will play the Sphere in Las Vegas.
Metallica’s Life Burns Faster residency at the Sphere currently consists of eight shows over four weekends — Oct. 1 and 3, 15 and 17, 22 and 24, and 29 and 31. Although, clearly, no one would be shocked if the Metallica ends up adding way more dates.
“About 12 seconds into the opening night of Sphere with U2 back in ‘23, I thought ‘We have to do this, it’s completely uncharted territory!’” Metallica co-founder/drummer Lars Ulrich said in a news release. “This residency gives us another chance to reinvent how we interact with our fans in a live setting. We are beyond excited to share this with the world in six months time, and way (expletive) psyched to go next level!”
The Metallica Sphere residency will continue the No Repeat Weekend tradition that began with the 2023 kick-off of the band’s M72 World Tour — so that means no songs will be repeated during the Thursday and Saturday shows of each weekend in the run.
Two-night No Repeat Weekend tickets and single-night tickets will go at 10 a.m. March 6, metallica.lnk.to/MetallicaSphere.
