Arkansas football is entering a new era under Ryan Silverfield following his strong run as Memphis’ head coach. This off-season has been extremely busy for Silverfield as he has tried to bring in a team that can start to take the next step in being able to compete in the SEC.
While that involves bringing in the right type of talented players, it also includes bringing in the right coaches to help coach them up. On Tuesday, Silverfield announced that he was bringing in Tulane assistant Landius Wilkerson to coach the defensive line.

— Matt Zenitz (@mzenitz) February 24, 2026Wilkerson played his college football at Alabama State as an offensive lineman. He was hired away from South Alabama this off-season to be the defensive line coach at Tulane, but he has now pivoted and decided to join Silverfield’s staff at Arkansas.
Getting competitive in the SEC is the first step for Silverfield, as the Razorbacks went 2-10 this past season, while not winning a game in the SEC. Arkansas has not had a season where it went .500 in the conference since the 2021 season when it went 4-4.
The line of scrimmage is a huge determining factor in the SEC, and the Razorbacks are hoping that Wilkerson can help them become a force on the defensive line.
