Car plows into Advocate Immediate Care center in Chicago; 1 injured

A car plowed into an Advocate immediate care clinic in Chicago Tuesday morning, leaving behind major damage the building and at least one person transported to a nearby hospital.

According to the Chicago Fire Department, the incident occurred about 8 a.m. at Advocate Medical Group Immediate Care Center at 4025 N. Western Ave. in North Center. CFD told NBC Chicago the building may be compromised.

    Photos and video from the scene showed yellow caution tape surrounding parts of the building with ground level windows and structural beams destroyed, with wires and other debris hanging from the ceiling.

    As of 9:30 a.m., police vehicles remained on scene, and what appeared to be an SUV was still inside the building.

    No further details on injuries or what led up to the crash was provided.

    Advocate did not immediately respond to NBC Chicago’s request for comment.
