LSU basketball likes what it has seen from Max Mackinnon, and now the Tigers are taking a swing on another Aussie hooper. 22-year old NBL standout Owen Foxwell announced on Monday that he will play college basketball for the Tigers next season as a member of the Class of 2026.
Foxwell is a veteran of the NBL, Australia’s top professional basketball league. He averaged 11.2 points, 4.5 assists and 3 rebounds per game this past season and has played in the league since 2021, when he was named the NBL1 South Youth Player of the Year. Foxwell’s younger brother, Joel, currently plays in the NCAA for the Portland Pilots.
The transition from overseas pro leagues to the college ranks has been pretty hit or miss, but Foxwell is certainly an intriguing prospect for the Tigers moving forward.

He joins incoming freshmen Kevin Thomas, a 4-star forward out of Fort Lauderdale, as well as 4-star prospects Herly Brutus of The Villages, Florida and Marcus Vaughns, also out of Australia by way of the NBA Global Academy.
