Country star Charley Crockett has announced the cancellation of his 2026 Canadian tour after being denied entry into the country twice because of a past felony charge.
Taking to social media on Monday, Feb. 23, the 41-year-old Texas native, known for his Gulf and Western sound, released a lengthy statement alongside a photo that showed a report from Canada’s immigration, refugees, and citizenship department.
The report stated that Crockett was not allowed to cross the border into Canada due to a 10-year-old drug possession charge. He was convicted of carrying more than five pounds of marijuana with intent to sell in Virginia, a charge that dates back to March 22, 2016.
“Everybody’s got a past,” Crockett began in his message to the fans. “Mine’s still haunting me.”
“I tried to cross the Canadian border twice in 24 hours. After they denied me entry in Vancouver, I tried again in Kelowna and was rejected a second time,” he continued. “I’ve been advised that it would jeopardize my freedom to try and enter again.”
Crockett also expressed his sincere apologies to the fans, as he was forced to cancel the entire leg of his Great White North tour, which includes eight additional shows.

“I’m deeply sorry to announce the cancellation of my entire Canadian tour,” the singer wrote, adding that “full refunds will be issued at the point of purchase.”
“I know this doesn’t begin to make up for y’all’s time and hard-earned money,” he continued. “I apologize to everyone affected. I know I let y’all down.”
He Previously Postponed the Opening Date of the Trek
According to Taste of Country, Crockett had previously postponed the opening date of his tour in Vancouver at the Orpheum Theatre, which was set to take place on Feb. 21. He has since deleted the social media announcement of the cancellation.
Although fans won’t be able to see Crockett perform live in Canada, at least anytime soon, the country singer noted that he fully intends to return in the future.
“Canada’s such a beautiful country full of some of the best fans in the world, and I’ve had the time of my life playing shows for y’all,” he added in closing. “I ain’t one to quit, and I aim to be back one of these days real soon. Yours truly, Charley.”
