Frozen meatballs sold nationwide recalled after customer found metal fragments inside

Check your freezer: Frozen meatballs sold at a popular grocery store are being recalled because they may have metal pieces in them.

Rosina Food Products issued a recall for the ready-to-eat frozen meatballs Sunday, an alert from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service showed. According to the alert, the meatballs were recalled because they may be contaminated with foreign material — specifically metal.

The meatballs, sold in 32 ounce packages and shipped to Aldi grocery stores nationwide, were sold under brand “Bremer Family Size Italian Meatballs,” with a best-buy date of Oct. 30, 2026. The products were produced July 20, 2025, with timestamps between 17:08 and 18:20 printed on the back of the label, the USDA said.

According to the alert, the problem was discovered after the FSIS said a consumer complained that they found metal fragments inside the products.

There have been no reports of injury, the FSIS said.

Health officials urged customers to check their freezers or refrigerators for the products.

“Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them,” the alert said. “These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.”
