GENEVA, N.Y. — The Hobart Statesmen, the three-time defending national champions, set a new NCAA record this weekend.
With a 4-0 win over Buffalo State on Friday, Hobart secured their 64th consecutive home victory, surpassing a record set in 1972 for the longest home winning streak in collegiate hockey history. The streak extended to 65 after Saturday’s win over Fredonia.
The Statesmen completed the regular season with a perfect 25-0 record. They are currently ranked number one in Division III and are aiming for their fourth straight national title later this season.
Hobart will play next on Wednesday in the first round of the SUNYAC Men’s Ice Hockey Tournament, at The Cooler in Geneva.
