CUBS LINEUP — The Cubs dropped their opener against the Sox yesterday at Sloan Park, but they’re back at it today with another (fortunately) televised broadcast against the Rangers. Here’s a look at the Cubs lineup for the second Spring Training game of the year.

Matt Shaw, RF Pete Crow-Armstrong, CF Carson Kelly, C Jonathan Long, 1B Justin Dean, LF James Triantos, 2B Pedro Ramirez, 3B Jefferson Rojas, SS BJ Murray, DHThis afternoon, we’ll get our first look at Matt Shaw, The Outfielder, as he steps into right field for the first time in a competitive game. We’ll see a lot of him out there this spring, as he learns the position, but he’ll also need some reps at left, third, and second, because he’ll likely be playing all over this summer. Tough task, no doubt, for such a young player.
Pete Crow-Armstrong and Carson Kelly are the other two starters getting into their first spring action, with a handful of prospects behind them. I’m particularly excited to get some eyes on Jefferson Rojas, who is one of the Cubs best shots at a big prospect breakout in 2026.
