Bianca Dias, a Brazilian model and social media influencer, has died. She was 27.
A celebrity in her hometown of Maua, Brazil, Dias’ was nearing 60,000 followers on Instagram, often sharing styled modeling shots and images featuring far-flung destinations for her followers. Her Instagram bio, written in Portuguese, reads, “Living at my own pace, without rushing and with purpose.”
Friends of the model quickly took to social platforms to share their love and prayers. Several paid tribute to Dias with images, videos, and kind words.
One of her friends, massage therapist Jeff Carlos, shared a video of the pair in a car, looking into the camera.
“My friend, I'm going to miss you so much. You boosted my self-confidence and self-esteem; you left a hole in my heart. I love you,” he wrote in the caption.
Another friend, Giovanna Borges, shared a selection of videos to her Instagram Stories, saying that Dias died while recovering from a surgical procedure.
“She had a pulmonary clot, had 2 seizures, and when she arrived at the hospital, she was no longer alive,” Borges wrote. “I want to thank the countless messages, thank you all who took the time to worry and send messages, if you can pray for the family regardless of religion, I will be extremely grateful! ?”
According to TMZ, the content creator began experiencing shortness of breath while recovering at her family's beach house from a procedure she underwent 18 days prior. Rushed to the hospital, she was later pronounced dead.
It’s unclear what kind of procedure Dias had done. Authorities have opened an investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.

Per RevivaMed Plastic Surgery, The American Academy of Facial and Reconstructive Surgery reported a 30% increase in patients seeking plastic surgery “specifically to improve their image on social media.” The clinic further shared that nearly half (48.5%) of 816 respondents said that social media influenced them to consider cosmetic surgery.
According the Centers for Disease Control, recent data indicates a concerning trend in cosmetic surgery-related deaths, namely those linked to specific procedures and medical tourism. For instance, the Brazilian Buff Lifts has been identified as a high-risk procedure with a mortality rate estimated as high as 1 in 3,000.
People reported that the Dias family held a wake for Dias this morning.
