ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Monroe County Executive Adam Bello is asking the legislature to approve funds to purchase the former Carestream building.
The 402,000-square-foot commercial building is located on 1.6 acres near the ESL ballpark. A county spokesperson said they want the building to relocate at least one department and possibly others.
The spokesperson said the move will reduce the county’s reliance on leased space and save taxpayers money over time.
Carestream filed for bankruptcy back in 2022, saying its debt level wasn’t sustainable in the long term due to slow growth in the medical imaging industry.
