Whose school district gets the money?

Critical question! As you get ready to vote on Ballot Question 1A, ask yourself this very basic question. Which school district, Windsor’s or Greeley/Evans’, will receive tax monies from the Catalyst – Cascadia venture?

If you don’t know the answer, please feel free to call one or all of these City Council members. They were on the last council who planned, created and now strongly approve this venture. A personal call is much more effective. Remember, they work for you.

    • Dale Hall, mayor, 970-657-0310, [email protected].

    • Melissa McDonald, mayor pro tem, 970-657-7821, [email protected].

    • Johnny Olson, Ward III, 970-336-4293, [email protected].

The correct answer has already surprised several thousand Greeley voters.

Vote Yes on 1A. Yes, this will slow the process down, but at least the citizens of Greeley will know what is about to happen to them.

Support Greeley tax base: Vote No on 1A

As a downtown restaurant owner, I don’t take public positions lightly. My wife and I have owned The Cow Saloon & Eatery for nearly four years, and like many small business owners, we understand how fragile margins can be. But if you don’t stand for something, you stand for nothing.

I support voting No on 1A because it will be good for Greeley — and great for downtown. Beginning in 2028, Cascadia is projected to generate more than $11 million in new annual sales tax revenue — roughly a 10% increase over current levels. That kind of growth strengthens city services and supports the long-term vitality of downtown.

Construction alone will bring 3,800 new jobs — thousands of new paying customers at a time when downtown will be navigating major construction tied to the Civic Campus project.

For too long, Greeley has watched visitors spend their dollars in Windsor, Loveland or Fort Collins. Cascadia gives us the chance to draw people here — and keep them here.

I believe this is good for all of Greeley. Support Greeley. Vote No on 1A.

Remarkable women support school bus effort

As school bus drivers in Greeley-Evans School District 6, we want to publicly acknowledge two remarkable women whose work is often unseen but absolutely critical: Shirley Bond and Wanda Shreeves.

Their tireless efforts to coordinate complex situations and maintain accurate real-time student counts are vital to both student safety and the smooth operation of more than 65 bus drivers. The responsibilities they juggle are staggering — managing routine morning and afternoon routes, providing support for special needs students, organizing shuttles, after-school programs, and trips, handling countless parent calls, and even tracking down lost items.

Through it all, they remain consummate professionals. Their dedication makes our jobs not only possible, but even enjoyable. Staff, parents and the community should know just how essential their work is — and the best part is, they do it all with skill, conviction and a smile.

So here’s to Shirley and Wanda. Thank you for everything you do to keep our students safe and our district moving forward.
