Based on a popular series of novels by Tony Hillerman, Dark Winds is set in the 1970s. The original season follows the FBI investigation of a bank robbery in Gallup, New Mexico, and the Navajo Tribal inquiry into the local murder of two Native residents. Lt. Joe Leaphorn (McClarnon), his new deputy Jim Chee (Kiowa Gordon), and Sgt. Bernadette Manuelito (Jessica Matten) do the heavy lifting around the reservation, which is near Monument Valley. The strange behaviors of some of the residents and the newcomers intertwine with their personal stories as the two men battle the forces of evil and their own personal demons on the path to salvation.
What happened in last week's Season 4 premiere of Dark Winds?
In “Kǫ’Tsiitáá’ Álnééh (Baptism by Fire)," last week's Season 4 premiere of Dark Winds, Lt. Joe Leaphorn and Sgt. Jim Chee searched for a runaway boarding school student. Bernadette Manuelito considered returning to the NTP (Navajo Tribal Police) while a menacing killer came to the reservation searching for a target close to the investigation.
Linda HamiltonIn a surprise cameo, Linda Hamilton guest starred as Barbara Sena, the wife of Gordo Sena (A Martinez). The wife of the sheriff suffered from dementia, which Hamilton drew upon her own experiences with her mother's battle with the disease.
In “Bikéé’ Doo Éédahoozįįdę́ę́góó (Toward Their Unknown Paths)," this week's all new episode of Dark Winds, Leaphorn, Chee, and Manuelito uncover new clues to the missing girl's whereabouts in the wake of a deadly shooting.
