Firefighters rescue 2 stranded by floodwaters in North Hollywood

Firefighters rescued two people Thursday after rising floodwaters stranded their vehicles in North Hollywood, prompting an emergency response by the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The incident was reported about 1 p.m. on the 6800 block of Vineland Avenue, according to the LAFD.

    Fire crews arrived to find two vehicles stalled in standing water, with two occupants positioned on top of the cars, authorities said. Both individuals were safely rescued and were not injured, the LAFD said.
