ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Our Yellow Alert will continue into Wednesday evening as our wintry mix of snow, sleet, freezing rain and rain continues, but slowly tapers. The steadiest moisture is moving away, with lighter mixed showers and slick spots on roads and sidewalks lingering. Once the main batch of precipitation moves away, we’ll be left with some areas of freezing drizzle and slippery surfaces as temperatures drop a few more degrees below freezing overnight.
Our weather quiets down nicely on Thursday, though it won’t be a pretty day. We’ll see a mostly cloudy sky, but we should remain precipitation-free with temperatures in the mid 30s. Our next round of precipitation moves in on Friday, but the majority of this should be rain, with temperatures climbing into the 40s. There may be a few pockets of wet snow or a brief wintry mix at the onset, but road conditions won’t be a concern with those climbing temperatures.
The weekend will turn chillier, with highs dropping back into the lower 30s with some light snow showers. We may see an inch or two of snow throughout the weekend, but overall accumulations will remain very low.
