Bill Maher apparently had a conversation with Kid Rock over his performance at the controversial halftime show put on by Turning Point USA—and he wasn't afraid to ask the hard-hitting questions.
"I did text with Kid Rock about [the show]," Maher recently told CNN's Elex Michaelson, noting that he confronted the singer over his decision to participate in the show, which served as a direct rival to Bad Bunny's official NFL halftime performance.

"His whole show was very about [being] Christian," Maher, 70, explained, calling the message of Kid Rock's song to be "very big" on Christian themes.
"I said, 'Wouldn’t it have been a little more Christian to let Mr. Bunny have his moment?'" Maher recalled asking.
When Michaelson asked what Kid Rock's response to Maher's question was, Maher said, "He didn't—I just said, next time we talk we should talk about whether it would have been a little more Christian to let Mr. Bunny have his moment."
Maher also noted that he "taped" Kid Rock's performance rather than watching it during the actual broadcast, and while he liked the music of the song he sang, the content was not Maher's "cup of tea." (Kid Rock performed his version of "Till I Can't," a cover of Cody Johnson's original song, during the Turning Point Halftime show.)
Turning Point USA, the conservative organization founded by late right-wing activist Charlie Kirk, described the alternative entertainment option for Super Bowl LX as an "All-American" halftime performance, an apparent dig at Bad Bunny's Spanish language music.
The Turning Point show, which also featured performances from country singers Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice and Gabby Barrett, received a significant amount of criticism online, including shade from fellow country singer Zach Bryan.
Bad Bunny's performance—which included several messages of unity throughout the show—has also ruffled feathers, including those of Tennessee congressman Andy Ogles.
Meanwhile, Bad Bunny's performance is now the fourth most-watched halftime show in Super Bowl history.
