Eventually, they allowed him to go play for Smart during the 2017 season. In his lone season in Athens, he finished with 50 tackles, 2 interceptions and 2 forced fumbles. His biggest play was a 34-yard pick-6 in a win against Auburn.
After his season at Georgia, he went undrafted, but he split time on the Commanders, Dolphins, Titans and Bengals.
With the start of spring practices nearing and the 2026 getting started in some capacity, bringing in a guy like Smith who is so familiar with the program is something that should be an advantage for Smart and his team.
