ROCHESTER, N.Y. — It’s been quite an Olympics so far for athletes from the Rochester area. Webster native defender Haley Winn is part of the undefeated U.S. women’s hockey team, which is facing off against Sweden in the quarterfinals on Monday.

Winn’s three brothers have also gotten attention, dressing in matching Team USA-themed uniforms to cheer on their country and their sister in Milan. News10NBC’s Kristi Blake spoke with the brothers ahead of their sister taking the ice in the semifinals.

The Winn brothers, Tommy, Ryan, and Casey, have gained viral fame for their over-the-top outfits and lively antics. The Winn brothers have been matching their outfits since the 2024 World Championship in Utica, New York. They never anticipated going viral, but their over-the-top attire and energetic behavior have garnered millions of views online. When asked about their favorite outfit, Tommy Winn shared his thoughts.
“I think my favorite was the last one that we just did. With the jean shorts and the mullets. It was kind of out of the box. People weren’t really expecting it, but it hit pretty hard and a lot of people ended up liking it,” Tommy Winn said.
Ryan Winn added, “It was just a rowdy outfit. Yeah. Getting loud in the stands, it was, that rink is really tight in the stands, too. But, we were a rowdy crew that game against Italy.”
Casey Winn hinted at a surprise for today’s game. “I think my favorite will be today’s. So we got a little addition to these. We’ll be wearing these today, plus something else. We’ll keep that kind of a secret for game time,” he said.

The brothers said they did not expect their outfits to become so popular, even catching the attention of Snoop Dogg. Their outfits, often sourced from Amazon, add to their high-energy presence at the games. “We just bounce ideas off each other like, hey, what about this?” Ryan said.
They plan to dress more casually for the gold medal game, despite the attention their outfits have attracted.
“I keep seeing that comment like on social media. Everyone’s like, can’t wait to see what the gold medal game outfits are,” Ryan Winn said.
The Winn brothers’ journey from their backyard rink in Rochester to the Olympics has been a proud moment for their family. “We’re so proud of her,” Tommy Winn said, recalling Haley’s early days on the ice.
Their antics are meant to keep attention on women’s hockey, a sport deeply rooted in their family history. “Starting right there in Rochester, New York on our backyard rink. Our dad used to build us, just being there every winter before she could even walk,” Ryan said.
Haley Winn has been skating since she was a toddler, the brothers say. The Bishop Kearney graduate scored her first Olympic goal against Switzerland in the group stages and later scored an assist during the 5-0 victory against Canada.
