Day 27 of the Chicago Bears offseason. I’m spending my first Sunday of the new year without NFL football to watch or care about stuffing my face with pizza while in the company of friends at Pizza Club.
That first Sunday sans football is always a tough one. So how about more than an hour’s worth of Caleb Williams highlights. Between this video link with 55 minutes worth of season-long clips, this link with his best plays from the Week 16 win against the Packers, this one featuring his best work from Wild Card Weekend, and his top plays from the NFC Divisional Round vs. the Rams, we easily clear 67+ minutes of jaw-dropping footage from Chicago’s QB1:The Iceman Mixtape ? pic.twitter.com/cJjPciF2k5

— Alex Patt (@chifanpatt2) February 15, 2026 The NFL Draft is 67 days away. NFL analyst Bucky Brooks has a top-5 ranking of prospects at every position group at this point of the pre-Draft process. I imagine this could change between now and when things kick off in April. However, this still feels like a good time to get to know some prospects. Don’t get me wrong. I understand a bunch of these players will be off the board by the time the Bears go on the clock with pick No. 25. But it never hurts to know who the top prospects are in a given position group.CHECK OUT THE BN BEARS PODCAST: Apple | Spotify | YouTube
For instance, this NFL Mock Draft by Dan Parr has the Bears taking Toledo safety Emmanuel McNeil-Warren with their first-round pick. McNeil-Warren is the No. 4-ranked safety on Brooks’ list. For what it’s worth, respected NFL Network drat analyst Daniel Jeremiah has McNeil-Warren as a top-20 prospect in this class. We’ll dig deeper into his profile at a later time and date. Considering the potential changes in Chicago’s secondary, it might make sense to target a defensive if he is the best player on the board when your team goes on the clock. The Bears don’t make the cut here. That isn’t surprising, especially when you consider their cap situation. This isn’t to say Chicago’s football team isn’t on the right track. The arrow is pointing up, as it appears that this franchise has a quarterback and coach who are both pulling from the same end of the rope. However, two Bears 2026 opponents (Seattle Seahawks, New York Jets) make the list. The good news for the Jets is that they have the fourth-most cap space and four picks in the top-45. But the bad news for the Jets is that they’re the Jets.BN BEARS ON SOCIAL MEDIA: Facebook | Twitter | BlueSky
We spent some time taking a peek at the upcoming NFL quarterback carousel. One name I’m intrigued to see find a landing spot is Derek Carr, who could make his way back from retirement in 2026. John Breech (CBS Sports) opines that the Minnesota Vikings could make sense as a fit for Carr if he unretires. Considering the lack of faith that folks outside of a certain segment of Vikings fans have for J.J. McCarthy, it would make sense for Minnesota to kick the tires here. I’m just happy the Bears aren’t in the hunt for QB help this offseason. ESPN reports the Las Vegas Raiders are promoting Rob Leonard to the defensive coordinator role. Leonard was previously the team’s run game coordinator and defensive line coach, which is a position he has had since 2023. I’m not sure how much it means that Leonard has a close relationship with star pass-rusher Maxx Crosby. However, I imagine promoting Crosby’s position coach is something that could help smooth things over with their seemingly disgruntled star.MORE BEARS FROM BLEACHER NATION: Go Ad-Free | Subscribe to the BN Newsletter
