    Funding priorities

The Santa Clara County Office of Education (SCCOE), in partnership with six school districts, has been awarded $1.98 million to expand career technical education for grades K-12. The funding comes from the Bay Area Community College Consortium’s Round 8 K12 Strong Workforce Program.

Through this initiative, the SCCOE will collaborate with the Fremont Union High School District and other partnering districts, including the Metropolitan Education District, East Side Union High School District, Gilroy Unified, Mountain View-Los Altos Union High School District and Santa Clara Unified.

To meet regional workforce needs and expand economic mobility for students, the SCCOE and its partner school districts identified common priorities: upgrading labs, expanding programs, implementing new pathways, increasing early college credit and providing industry certifications and work-based learning.
