Henry Winkler paid tribute to co-stars and friends from his Happy Days heyday. The actor, 80, took to Instagram to share a Valentine’s Day snap of some of his most beloved co-stars from the ‘70s sitcom, some of whom also went on to spinoff shows.
In a photo shared to his social media page, Winkler posed alongside Laverne & Shirley stars Penny Marshall and Cindy Williams and Mork & Mindy stars Robin Williamsand Pam Dawber. Legendary producer Garry Marshall sat in the middle of the group, while Winkler’s Happy Days co-star Ron Howard held a basketball in the throwback shot.
“How lucky am I to be part of this team??? VERY,” Winkler captioned the post.

Winkler played Arthur “Fonzie” Fonzarelli for 11 seasons on Happy Days, from 1974 to 1984. The actor previously spoke out about how Laverne & Shirley and Mork & Mindy became spin-offs of Happy Days.
“[Laverne & Shirley] started as a guest couple on our show,” Winkler recalled in a January 2024 episode of Gilbert Gottfried’s Amazing Colossal podcast. “I dated one, and Richie [Howard] dated Shirley. I dated Laverne. …And then they went on to do their own show. … What came out was some of the best slapstick comedy since Lucy.”
As for Williams, who appeared in two Happy Days episodes before scoring the Mork & Mindy spinoff with Dawber, Winkler told the Fake Doctors, Real Friends With Zach and Donald podcast that as soon as the actor picked up his first Happy Days script, “it was like a volcano went off on stage 19 at Paramount.” Winkler described Williams as a “genius” whom he never wanted to stand “toe to toe” with.

The Happy Days cast was a team in more ways than one. In the 1970s, Garry Marshall formed a softball team featuring the stars from his ABC sitcoms. He also hosted weekly basketball games at his home, which may have been where Winkler’s throwback photo was taken.
“We traveled all over the world playing as the Happy Days ball team,” Winkler told The Hollywood Reporter in 2016. “We played for the American troops in Germany, in Japan. We played in major ball fields all over the country, all because [Marshall] wanted so badly to be part of a sports team. He had a basketball game at his house every Sunday and Ron [Howard] was a good basketball.”
