A small plane crashed into a residential neighborhood in northern Illinois Saturday afternoon, the National Transportation Safety Board said.
A Whittman Tailwind airplane crashed into a neighborhood near Poplar Grove under “unknown circumstances,” NTSB said around 6 p.m.
NTSB investigators are en route to the crash, the agency said in a post on social media.
“Once on site, investigators will document the scene and examine the aircraft. The plane will then be recovered to a secure facility for further evaluation,” NTSB said.
Boone County Fire Protection District No. 2 responded to the scene.
