Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Aidan Collins, a finalist at the 2025 Winter Junior Championships, has announced his verbal commitment to compete for Arizona State University beginning in the fall of 2027.

“I’m thrilled to announce my verbal commitment to Arizona State University! None of this would be possible without my amazing parents – your love, sacrifices, and endless support have made every early morning and late night worth it. Huge thanks to my family, friends, past coach Joey, current coach Scott at DART Swimming, for their guidance and impact on their journey. I also want Coach Herbie, Coach Salo and the rest of the ASU coaching staff for believing in me and giving me this opportunity. FORKS UP!”

The California native is currently a junior at Cosumnes Oaks High School in Elk Grove, where he has been a member of the school’s varsity swimming and diving team since his freshman year. In addition to competing for Cosumnes Oaks, Collins trains year-round with DART Swimming, primarily specializing in breast, fly and IM.

Collins has enjoyed a tremendous season so far, setting new personal best times in each of his top events. At the 2025 Winter Junior Championship – West in December, he earned a second swim in two events and logged three new lifetime best performances. He placed 10th in the 200 fly (1:45.18 – PB), 18th in the 100 fly (47.77 – SB), 26th in the 200 IM (1:48.95 – PB) and 35th in the 100 breast (55.50 – PB).

A week later, Collins competed at the Speedo Sectionals in Walnut, where he posted another string of personal best performances. He took the runner-up spot in the 100 fly (47.62) and placed 10th in the 50 breast (25.25) and 12th in the 100 free (45.43), clocking a lifetime best in each race. He also finished 15th in the 200 breast in 2:03.27 after posting a best time of 2:02.75 during prelims.

The SN Winter Champs SCY in January saw Collins lower his top times even further in two events, as he took 2nd in both the 100 breast (54.98) and 50 fly (22.12). He also won the 200 free (1:44.34) and placed 2nd in the 200 IM (1:51.11), 7th in the 200 breast (2:08.33) and 8th in the 100 back (55.40).

Over the summer, Collins turned in a series of top performances at the Futures Championship (LCM) in Sacramento, earning a second swim in four events and logging four new best times. He placed 5th in the 100 fly (55.21), 9th in the 200 IM (2:06.21) and 10th in the 100 breast (1:04.09), posting lifetime best times in each event. He also finished 30th in the 100 free in 53.14 after turning in a best time of 53.05 during prelims and contested the 50 breast (30.35) and 200 fly (2:08.24).

    Best Times SCY

    100 fly – 47.62 200 fly – 1:45.18 100 breast – 54.98 200 breast – 2:02.75 200 IM – 1:48.95

A Division I program, ASU competes in the Big 12 Conference, with the men’s team winning the 2025 Big 12 Championships to conclude their first season in the conference. The Sun Devils sent 11 athletes to compete at the NCAA Division I Men’s Championships, where they placed 6th overall.

Based on the results from last season’s Big 12 Championships, Collins would have landed in the ‘B’ final in the 200 fly and the ‘C’ final in the 100 fly and 100 breast, putting him in a position to score some points right from the start. With another full season to go before he arrives in Tempe, we will have to wait and see how the roster shakes out, but Collins looks to be in good shape to become a strong contributor for the Sun Devils.

Currently set to join Collins in ASU’s class of 2031 are Landon Hall, Thor Johannessen, Ben Jaggers, Harrison Tater and Gavin Halusic, who should all make for strong training partners over their four years together.
