LIMA, N.Y. — A Lima resident was arrested on felony charges following an investigation into alleged inappropriate online messages sent to a 14-year-old girl in California.
In November 2025, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office in California contacted the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office regarding concerning messages sent by a 20-year-old man to a 14-year-old child.
Investigators determined that Aiden Kelly sent sexually explicit messages to the teen after the two met through an online game. Investigators said thousands of messages were exchanged between Kelly and the victim over a month-long relationship.
Kelly was arrested on Feb. 12 and charged with Disseminating Indecent Material to Minors in the First Degree, a Class D Felony.
He was taken to the Livingston County Jail for processing and arraigned in Livingston County Centralized Arraignment Part before a judge. Kelly was released on his own recognizance under New York’s bail reform law.
