A first-look clip has been revealed for new eight-part BBC drama series Mint, which comes from Scrapper writer/director Charlotte Regan.
The clip introduces us to the characters played by Mayor of Kingstown's Emma Laird and Ben Coyle-Larner, better known as musician Loyle Carner.
They are seen on opposite platforms at a train station, looking at one another. As Laird's character Shannon walks along the platform, Coyle-Larner's Arran does the same. When she flips him the bird, first with one hand, then with two, he also follows suit.

View Green Video on the source websiteMint has been described as being about "soaring romance, crushing heartbreak and what love might feel like when everyone outside of your family is terrified of you".
It follows a crime family, but focuses on the kids, the mum and the grandma in the family. It is said to be a story about "the love, darkness, humour, heartbreak and plain weirdness of living alongside that world, and what happens when you’re forced to take control of it".
The series was filmed in and around Glasgow last year, and also stars Sam Riley (Firebrand), Laura Fraser (Patience), Lewis Gribben (Black Mirror) and Lindsay Duncan (Sherwood).
The first four episodes will be premiere at Berlinale - Berlin International Film Festival on Sunday 15 February, before the series arrives on BBC One and BBC iPlayer at some point in spring 2026.
When the series was first announced, Regan said in a statement: "Mint is a world I’ve been thinking about for such a long time. It’s the project that’s stuck with me endlessly and I could never get it out of my head. I’m so excited to be making it with the legends at the BBC. I can’t wait to meet some magical humans and make some magical TV."
Mint will air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer in spring 2026.
