2026 UIL 5A State Swimming and Diving Championships
Prelims: Friday, Feb. 20, 2026 Finals: Saturday, Feb. 21, 2026 Austin, TX (University of Texas) Meet page Psych sheetOne thing is clear heading into the University Interscholastic League (UIL) 5A State Swimming and Diving Championships: it will be hard to top the drama of last year’s meet.
Both the girls’ and boys’ titles were decided by the slimmest of margins in 2025, with the Boerne Champion girls’ prevailing by three points over Reedy and the Prosper Walnut Grove boys’ holding off Georgetown by two. It marked the first state championship titles for both programs.
Can both repeat? Here’s a breakdown of the 5A state meet.
Girls’ Preview
Champion certainly is in a good position to repeat thanks to the presence of junior Kate Canales and senior Cora Skoog.
Committed to Florida, Canales is the defending champion and top seed in both the 100 fly (54.46) and 100 breast (1:01.18).
Committed to Texas A&M, Skoog is the top seed in the 100 free (51.50) and the 2nd seed in the 50 free. She was 3rd in the 100 free last year.
Champion is also the top seed in both the 200 medley and 400 free relays.
Other top seeds are:
Prosper Walnut Groves senior Morgan Farlow, a North Carolina commit, will look to defend her title in the 500 free after swimming a time of 4:55.03 at regionals. Another defending state champion, Leander junior Brooke Frushour, will look to repeat in the 100 back (54.53). In the 50 free, Comal Pieper senior Kate Govin is the top seed (23.55) as she looks to take a big jump after a 12th-place finish last year. Elizabeth Bircher, a senior from Austin LASA, is the top seed in diving with a regional score of 438.05. A pair of freshmen will look to make an immediate impact at the state meet by capitalizing on top seeds. Austin LASA freshman Charissa Higgs tops the list of qualifiers in the 200 free (1:50.61), while Dallas Highland Park freshman Jadyn Sum is the top seed in the 200 IM (2:05.65).Boys’ Preview
Walnut Grove hopes to repeat behind senior Grayden Barker, a BYU commit who is the defending champion in the 500 free and 100 fly and the top seed this year in the 200 IM (1:51.68).
Barker is also seeded 2nd in the 100 fly behind Dallas Wilson senior Landon Fike (48.47), who was 2nd to Barker last year in the event.
Fike is also the top seed in the 50 free (20.22).
The other individual seeded 1st in two events is Colleyville Heritage junior Aiden Tokarski, who is the top seed in the 200 free (1:37.09) and 500 free (4:30.91). Tokarski finished 3rd in the 200 free last year.
Frisco Wakeland is the top seed in both the 200 medley and 200 free relays, while CS A&M Consolidated holds the top seed in the 400 free relay.

Mansfield Timberview senior Daniel Henry is the top seed in diving at 512.00 points. Boerne Champion senior Will Harrison, an Arizona commit, is the top seed in the 100 free (45.38) and also holds the 2nd seed in the 50 free behind Fike. Ben Jaggers, a junior for Austin Anderson and an Arizona State commit, is seeded 1st in the 100 back (48.05).
