ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is reminding people take airbag recalls seriously, saying there are still about 225,000 vehicles in the U.S. with unrepaired Takata air bags.

So far, 6.6 million recalled air bag inflators have replaced for Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram models. Stellantis North America has issued a “do not drive” warning for cars with defective air bags that haven’t had the repairs yet. All recalls are free at the manufacturer’s dealership.
