Co-host of The ViewAlyssa Farah Griffin can now add "mom" to her resume.
Kicking off Wednesday's episode fellow co-host Whoopi Goldberg announced that the TV personality had given birth.
"First thing we want to do is start by congratulating Alyssa and her husband on the birth of their baby boy, Justin Patrick Griffin Jr.," she said at the top of the show. "He weighed in 7 lbs and 19 and a half inches. Both mom and baby are doing well."

Griffin, 36, who announced in October that she was expecting, also took to her own Instagram stories with the news just before it hit the airwaves.
"Justin Patrick Griffin Jr. arrived late last night," she wrote. "We're overjoyed and grateful for the well wishes!"

This week, the baby's arrival became a hot topic of its own as Griffin had to leave The View set earlier than expected as she was going into labor. “She’s at the hospital right now!” Goldberg told the studio audience. “And we are wishing her the best as she waits for her baby boy to arrive.”The news comes just days after Griffin, 36, shared advice that she'd have for the co-hosts that will be stepping in for her on maternity leave.
“Authentically be yourself,” she said. “Each of us brings our own view, you’re not here as a Republican party spokesperson, you’re not here as a defender of the current administration, you’re not here as an opponent, you’re there to say authentically what you believe when presented with the issues of the day.”
Co-hosts slated to fill in for Griffin include former View stars Abby Huntsman and Elisabeth Hasselbeck.
Leading up to her maternity leave, View co-hosts and now fellow mothers Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Joy Behar, and Goldberg all gave their fellow panelist advice during an on-air baby shower that took place last week.
"Now, there’s a lot of things I wish I had known before I was a mom, and one of them is, don’t look at anyone else doing it, because every other parent, every other mom, specifically, is going to look like they have all the right gear," Haines said. "They do all the right things. They don’t. They’re just better at covering.”?
