Team GB will look to put early curling heartbreak behind them as they head into the men's and women's tournaments at the Winter Olympics.
It doesn't have the thrills and spills of many of the more animated events, but there is something almost mesmerising about the duel of strategy and skill that plays out on the ice – and that's why it always proves popular with fans back home.
Ultimately, it's about outscoring your opponent by sliding granite stones closer to the target, the 'button' at the centre of the other end of the sheet of ice, across eight rounds.

Both will have a chance for redemption at Milano-Cortina 2026 and are among Team GB's great remaining medal hopes.
RadioTimes.com brings you our guide to curling at the Winter Olympics 2026.
When is Winter Olympics 2026 curling?
Curling at the Winter Olympics runs across every day of the Games, the only sport to do so.
It starts with the mixed doubles event, which begins Wednesday 4th February and concludes on Tuesday 11th February.
The men's tournament starts on Wednesday 11th February and finishes on Saturday 21st February.
The women's tournament gets going on Thursday 12th February and runs until Sunday 22nd February.
Team GB arrived in Italy ready to mount a challenge for medals in all three curling events at Milano Cortina 2026 – the mixed doubles, men's, and women's tournaments.
Bruce Mouat and Jen Dodds suffered an all-too-familiar heartbreak with a fourth-place finish in the mixed pairs, which is the same result as four years ago.
Mouat will skipper in the men's tournament, with Team GB looking to go one better from the silver they won at Beijing 2022.
Hammy McMillan Jr, Bobby Lammie, and Grant Hardie were all part of the team four years ago, while Kyle Waddell returns after making his debut at Pyeongchang 2018.
Rebecca Morrison leads the women's team, aiming to win back-to-back golds after glory in Beijing. Dodds played her part in that success four years ago, but Morrison, Sophie Jackson, Sophie Sinclair and Fay Henderson are all making their Olympic debut.
