Family of murdered man found with arms and legs missing demands answers

The family of a man who was brutally murdered and buried along train tracks on Chicago’s South Side is seeking justice in his 2025 unsolved killing.

Isaiah Hall, 27, was killed last spring. His sister told NBC Chicago his body was discovered with his arms and legs missing.

“Isaiah didn’t deserve that,” said Quandra Banks, victim’s sister. “It’s heartbreaking.”

Banks was overcome with emotions and broke down in tears just thinking about her brother. It’s been nearly nine months since his murder.

“He deserves justice, and I just want to know what happened to him I want to know who did it,” she said.

Banks first reported her brother missing last May after she couldn’t get a hold of him. Police said his decomposing body was later discovered along train tracks near 93rd and Drexel in the Burnside neighborhood.

“The way they found him I can’t get that out of my head,” she said. “I can’t stop thinking about it.”

Detectives told her family a train worker found him and called 911. Hall’s body was halfway buried in a shallow hole in the wooded area, according to family. His legs and arms were missing.

“The way they did my little brother, the way they did Isaiah is so wrong,” she cried.

The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled her brother’s death a homicide with multiple assault injuries.

“It’s one of the main reasons why I want to get his story out there because you got find the person that did that,” she said. “It’s unbelievable, like I said something straight out of a horror movie.”

Hall was found just two blocks away from where he was staying with other family members. Chicago police have not said whether a person of interest or suspect has been identified yet, only that they’re still actively investigating.

Banks said her brother was trying to get his life together looking for stable housing and employment. He spent time in California and Nebraska before moving back to Chicago.

“He didn’t like to argue, he didn’t like nobody to raise their voice even though he had a deep voice,” she shared. “He was a gentle giant, seriously, he loved music, he loved to laugh, he loved bike riding.”

Banks is now holding onto those memories and pictures of her brother and said she won’t rest until the killer is caught.

“It’s the only reason I’m keeping afloat because I need to be here,” she said. “I need to make sure he gets justice I need to make sure Isaiah gets justice.”
