For a band that has spent more than four decades shaking arenas and shaping the sound of modern heavy metal, there are still firsts left to conquer. Now, Pantera is preparing to check off a major milestone — one that fans in an entirely new corner of the world have been waiting years to see.
The legendary groove metal outfit has officially announced via social media its first-ever performance in the Republic of Turkey, with a show slated for July 12, 2026, in Istanbul. The historic concert marks another global expansion for a band whose music has long transcended borders, languages and generations of metal listeners.

The Istanbul show is the latest in a wide-ranging European tour that will see Pantera play in Germany, Hungary, Ireland, the U.K. and Greece between May and July 2026.
Formed in Arlington, Texas, in 1981, Pantera evolved from glam-metal roots into one of the most influential heavy metal bands of the modern era. Their breakthrough arrived with 1990's Cowboys from Hell, a record widely credited with helping usher in the groove metal movement.
Following a breakup in the early 2000s and the deaths of founding guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott and drummer Vinnie Paul, many fans believed Pantera’s story had reached its final chapter.
But in the early 2020s, surviving members Phil Anselmo and Rex Brown reunited under the Pantera banner alongside guitarist Zakk Wylde and drummer Charlie Benante, bringing the band’s catalog back to arenas and major festivals around the world. They played their first major shows in over 20 years with appearances in Latin America in 2022, and later undertook their first major tour in 22 years with a full-scale tour of Europe in 2023.
