The Dancing with the Stars Season 34 mirrorball winner addressed persistent rumors linking him to ABC’s The Bachelor in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. Talk of Irwin joining the dating series gained momentum while he was still competing on the dance series.
"Never say never, I'm in this realm right now where I'm like, never say never," Irwin revealed, fueling further speculation on a crossover to another ABC reality series. He joked, "Watch this space. Who knows. It's a strange world, anything could happen."

He explained, "I'm a zookeeper. I'm an animal conservationist. That's my thing. My world is very different from most of the things that are reported on about me."

Much of Irwin’s day-to-day life is spent helping his mother, Terri Irwin, and sister, Bindi Irwin, run Australia Zoo. Outside of television appearances, he remains focused on wildlife conservation and continuing his family’s legacy.
The entertainer added that despite his high-profile appearances, his life is pretty ordinary. He explained, "a lot more boring than you might think. It's exciting when it comes to animals."
Irwin added, "I'm jumping on crocs, I'm handling snakes and rescuing koalas. But when it comes to that side of it (romance) I'm pretty vanilla."
He dialed down any romance rumors by telling the outlet he keeps that side of his life "pretty private." Irwin added that "everything's good, life's great."
Robert Irwin will join the Dancing with the Stars: Live! tour for select dates from April 21 to April 30, 2026, alongside pro dancer and fellow mirrorball winner Witney Carson. He will appear at stops in California, Nevada, and Arizona.
Dancing with the Stars is currently on hiatus.
