There are many reasons fans are desperate to see the second season of BBC show Ludwig.
There's the show's mystery-of-the-week format, there's the comedy, the loveable characters and so much more. Then, there's the hope that we will find out more about what happened to James, the twin brother of the show's central character, John.
In the first season, James disappeared, which was the initial reason for John to take his place and start working with the police to find out what happened to him.
At the end of the first season, it became clear that James had gone into hiding after storing away the contents of Sinclair, a conspiracy theorist who had seemingly happened on something true — and dangerous enough to get him killed.
Beyond this, there are still plenty of question marks around what James has been doing since his disappearance, and exactly what happened in the lead up to it. Now, it seems we may get answers to some of these questions, as David Mitchell has teased further developments in the crucial storyline.
Speaking exclusively with RadioTimes.com at the Radio Times Covers Party 2026, Mitchell said when asked if we would find out more about James's disappearance: "A little bit yeah, that's still carrying on.
"They're still trying to get their heads around what he's doing and why he's gone, and a little bit more of that mystery will be revealed."

When asked how his official role on the police team would shake things up in the new episodes, Mitchell said: "When you watch the second series, you realise there's still quite a lot of obfuscation involved in his role, because not everyone in the police force is entirely on side with his appointment.
"And of course, he's still got to cover up the fact that for a long time he was solving cases while impersonating a police officer. And if that ever gets out, well, five murderers will walk free, and he won't walk free himself."
