A Weld County man accused of making 916 calls to his ex-girlfriend over the course of roughly three months faces stalking and harassment charges.
Joseph Trujillo, 25, faces stalking and harassment charges for allegedly calling his ex-girlfriend several hundred times from Nov. 21 to Feb. 6, according to a Weld County Sheriff’s Office news release.
The victim reported that she dated Trujillo for five years and broke up with him in November. She told deputies that in addition to the almost 1,000 calls, he left several voicemails and attempted to contact the victim through other phone numbers or other social media accounts after she blocked him.
In January, he texted the victim multiple times, stating that he wanted to come to her house, despite her objections. Trujillo also came into the victim’s home three times uninvited from November to December, according to the release. The calls and constant communication caused the victim emotional distress and fear, according to the release.
Trujillo was arrested on the harassment and stalking charges on Friday, according to Weld County arrest logs. He was released from custody on a $10,000 personal recognizance bond, according to a sheriff’s office spokesperson. Trujillo is scheduled to appear at the Weld District Court on Feb. 17 for the filing of charges, according to court dockets.
