Singer Brooke Josephson took to Instagram to announce she is divorcing her husband, producer Barry Josephson, following the revelation of his ties to Jeffrey Epstein.
The singer and actress, who is known for roles in Enchanted, Life As We Know It, and Someone Marry Barry, shared a typewritten message on her Instagram page that revealed a personal update about her marriage to Josephson, an executive producer for the popular TV series Bones, whom she wed in 2007.
"In light of recent events in the news this week, I am prepared to share a personal update. Barry Josephson and I are going through a divorce," Josephson wrote. "I was not aware of Barry's relationship with Jeffrey Epstein during our entire marriage. I respectfully request privacy and prayers for our children and I during this time. Thank you to all who have shown compassion and respect."

Josephson's emails with the late sex offender became public last week and revealed a friendship that extended long after the financier was convicted in 2008 for procuring a child for prostitution and other charges, Deadline reported. Josephson borrowed over $330,000 from Epstein in 2011 and 2012 to settle tax bills, and chatted casually with Epstein about a “young, attractive” woman with an “insane rack” he thought Epstein should hire as an assistant, the piece continued. Epstein encouraged Josephson to hire certain women for acting roles.

Josephson shared a statement in which he said he regretted his involvement with Epstein.
“There’s no excuse for what I said in some of my emails,” Josephson said in a statement, The Wrap reported. “The language was crude and juvenile, and I’m ashamed. While I did attend social events with Epstein, and he did visit my sets twice, I never traveled with on his plane, visited his island or saw him in the company of minors.”
“In my 47 years working in the entertainment industry, I’ve encountered thousands of people," he continued. "My biggest regret, bar none, is that I foolishly believed his denials of wrongdoing. I was impressed by his circle of acquaintances from varied industries, and it blinded me. I apologize to all who were hurt by this clearly terrible and depraved individual.”
