2026 Georgia High School Association 5A State Championships

Feb. 7, 2026 Atlanta, Georgia (Georgia Tech University) SCY (25 yards) Results

This time, Lassiter High School celebrated two state championships at the Georgia High School Association 5A State Championships.

Seeing the Lassiter girls’ team on top of the podium was nothing new, as it won its seventh straight state title and 12th overall.

What was new, however, was the boys’ team joining them at the top, earning the program’s first-ever state championship and completing the sweep.

    Girls’ Recap

The Lassiter girls extended their state title-winning streak relatively comfortably despite only winning one event during the meet, that being in the 100 breast, where East Carolina commit and senior Ashlyn Loftin took first in a time of 1:03.63.

The individual standout was Chattahoochee freshman Kylie Mann, who won the 200 free in 1:51.89 and the 500 free in 4:54.03.

The meet certainly was a showcase of freshmen, with four ninth graders winning individual events.

Three different schools won the relay events.

The 200 medley relay was captured by the Johns Creek squad of Julia Pou (26.35), Yumeng Jiang (29.91), Teagan Markott (24.31) and Amelia McEwan (24.17) in 1:44.74.

In the 200 free relay, Riverwood’s team of Caroline Kittrell (25.34), Katie Kessell (24.10), Megan Murden (25.64) and Skyelar Richards (23.57) touched the wall first in a time of 1:38.65.

The 400 relay was taken by the Lakeside-Evans team of Allie Jost (52.16), Grace Gambrell (53.83), Taylor Marchan (56.00 ) and Heba Fouitah (48.61) in 3:30.60.
