Mike Wolfe clarified the future of American Pickers as his new show, History's Greatest Picks With Mike Wolfe, prepares to kick off on the History Channel.
During an interview with TV Insider published on Feb. 9, Wolfe, 61, set the record straight on the fate of American Pickers in the wake of his co-star, Danielle Colby, claiming the show was "done" after 27 seasons.

"We’ve got shows coming up," Wolfe revealed. "We were in talks behind the scenes about when we want to fire this thing up again. The reason we took a hiatus was because the network had a number of shows that were brand-new and just sitting there. They were like, 'Let’s just chill out for a little bit. Let’s air some shows and get back at it.'"
In fact, Season 27 of American Pickers will continue with a new episode dropping on Sunday, Feb. 15 at 8 p.m. ET on the History Channel.
Additionally, History's Greatest Picks With Mike Wolfe officially premieres on Sunday, Feb. 22 at 9 p.m. ET on the History Channel.

"Listen, I don’t take lightly. This new show [History’s Greatest Picks] is going to air because I struggled for five years to make my show happen and to be on television," Wolfe told TV Insider. "So, when that happened, and I learned so much, what I did learn was there are so many great ideas floating around out there, but so little of them come to fruition when it comes to television."
He concluded, "This was a great idea someone had, and it was just the right time. I feel so proud to produce content still for History after all these years. "
In December, Colby, 50, posted an Instagram video claiming, " just found out that American Pickers is done.” She later clarified, “Things are always still happening. Things are always still going. My perspective was more from a paycheck standpoint.”
When asked if American Pickers was canceled, a History Channel representative told Parade in December, “There is no truth to it. The fact is, we aren’t producing new episodes right now because we have a season in the can already, and Mike was doing his new show, but we could go back into production early next year.”
A new episode of American Pickers airs on Sunday, Feb. 15 at 8 p.m. ET, while History's Greatest Picks With Mike Wolfe officially premieres on Sunday, Feb. 22 at 9 p.m. ET on the History Channel.
