ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Memorial Art Gallery (MAG) invites the community to celebrate Black History Month with “A Salute to Black Excellence: 100 Years of Celebrating Black History” on Sunday, Feb. 8, from noon to 4 p.m.
Guests can enjoy jazz, blues, hip hop, storytelling, dance, and vocal performances in the Pythodd Tribute Music Lounge. Art-making activities and programming for all ages are also part of the free celebration.
The event features specials at Brown Hound Downtown and a trunk show with Verneda Adele White, founder of Black People Are America’s Hot Sauce®, in THE STORE @ MAG.
The MAG Council sponsored the Celebration Series, with additional support from the Robert and Madeleine S. Heilbrunn Memorial Fund.
