The Flaming Lips have some exciting news for their fans.
The alternative rock band revealed on Friday via Instagram that they have added more concert and festival dates to their world tour taking place this summer. In addition to the 12 shows scheduled around the United States and Europe, which were originally announced back in December, the new tour poster includes additional concerts and performances on May 7 in Houston's White Oak Music Hall, June 25 in Athens, Nottingham on July 19, and Glasgow on July 27.

View this post on InstagramFormed in Oklahoma City in 1983, The Flaming Lips started out playing garage punk before branching into more psychedelic and experimental rock territory. Before signing with Warne Brothers Records and releasing their most popular album, Death in the Future Head, in 1992, they recorded several albums and EPs under the indie label Restless in the 1980s and 1990s. Their hit single "She Don't Use Jelly" broke the rock band into the mainstream. In 1999, they released The Soft Bulletin, which received positive reviews from critics and fans, followed by their 2002 hit album, Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots.
For more than 40 years, the band has released 16 studio albums, with their most recent being American Head in 2020. Its current members include Wayne Coyne, Derek Brown, Matt Duckworth Kirksey, Tommy McKenzie and Adam Judd "AJ" Slaughter.
