New England Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs is facing fresh legal trouble just days before Super Bowl LX, with a new lawsuit adding to an already complicated off-field situation.
According to a lawsuit obtained by TMZ on Friday, February 6, Diggs, 32, is being sued for defamation, civil conspiracy, and related claims by a man who says he previously worked for the NFL star. The plaintiff alleges that in July 2024, Diggs asked him to coordinate the transport of the athlete’s Ferrari from Miami to New York and then to Houston. While the vehicle was in Houston, the man claims it was stolen.
The lawsuit states that law enforcement later determined the Ferrari was taken by third parties in what was described as a “sophisticated theft.” However, the former associate alleges Diggs told others within their shared social circles that the man himself was responsible for stealing the car.
The plaintiff strongly denies that accusation, noting he was never arrested or charged. He claims the alleged statements severely damaged his concierge and consulting business and led to confrontations. According to the filing, individuals connected to Diggs allegedly approached him at restaurants in Houston and Miami and even came to his home demanding the return of gifts Diggs had given him.

The lawsuit also references a January 2025 text message Diggs allegedly sent, stating the man was “responsible and accountable for all actions of those around me.”
Things reportedly escalated further in December 2025, when the plaintiff claims he was assaulted at Tootsie’s Cabaret in Miami by two men connected to Diggs. The filing alleges Diggs’ brother, Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs, witnessed the incident and failed to intervene. The plaintiff says he suffered multiple injuries, including a torn ACL, and is now seeking damages from both Stefon and Trevon.
This isn’t the first time Stefon, who is dating Cardi B, has faced legal scrutiny this season. The receiver is also dealing with a separate case involving a felony charge of strangulation and a misdemeanor assault charge stemming from an alleged December incident with a private chef. Diggs’ attorney, David Meier, has denied those allegations, however.
