On Monday, Feb. 2, Kelly Clarkson announced that the current season of her popular daytime talk show The Kelly Clarkson Show would be her last. Though saying goodbye to her talk show of seven years was undoubtedly difficult, a source for People revealed that Clarkson is looking forward to more family time and even more opportunities to make music.
“After years of an intense daily schedule, she’s excited to move at a different pace and have more flexibility to spend time with her kids without the structure of a daily show," the source began.

Kelly still wants to make music and perform, and she’s open to popping up on projects she enjoys, but nothing that requires an ongoing daily grind. For her, this next phase is about balance," the source added.
According to Page Six, during a May 2025 performance in Atlantic City, New Jersey, Clarkson opened up about the toll her daytime talk show took on her life, admitting it had become so demanding that it even prevented her from touring.
“We haven’t done a show in a while, y’all, ’cause I have a talk show. It’s like a whole other job,” she told the crowd. “We are bummed ’cause we love doing shows, and it’s hard to fit it in, so it’s cool when it does work out with the schedule. And it’s cool to get to see your faces and feed off y’all. Thank you so much for having so much energy.”
Clarkson is also focused on being a present mother to her two kids, River, 11, and Remington "Remy," 9, who tragically lost their father, Clarkson's ex, Brandon Blackstock, to cancer in August 2025.
