To commemorate the anniversary of his death, fans are reliving the magic of his last televised performance, which took place at the People's Choice Country Awards (PCCAs) in September 2023, where Keith was honored with the Country Music Icon Award.
During the ceremony, Keith gave an emotional performance of his deep cut, "Don't Let the Old Man In," a song he wrote for the 2018 film The Mule after being inspired by a conversation with Clint Eastwood.
"[Eastwood] said, 'I just get up every morning and go out. And I don’t let the old man in,'" Keith previously recalled to Billboard. "And I thought, 'I’m writing that.'"
