Purple Rain has also done well on other U.K. charts, reaching a peak of fourth place on the Official Albums Chart, while it reached the same position on the Official Albums Sales Chart and Official Album Downloads Chart.

Purple Rain was Prince's sixth studio album and the official soundtrack for the 1984 movie of the same name.
