South Korean beauty influencer Daddoa has died at age 29.

Daddoa’s agency Leferi Beauty Entertainment confirmed to People on Wednesday, February 4, that the internet personality died on December 16, 2025. According to the agency, Daddoa had plans to return to her studies after dropping out of school to begin her social media career

    “This news has sparked even greater sadness, as it was revealed that she had been focusing on completing her studies,” Leferi told People in a statement. “Which she had been unable to finish due to her life and activities as a beauty blogger and creator since her high school years, with her last video dating back four years ago.”

    The agency’s chairman Choi In-seok also expressed his condolences following Daddoa’s untimely death.

    Daddoa (real name Da Sol Lee) was best known for creating YouTube and Instagram content. She shared makeup tutorials, tested out products and provided additional beauty and style tips to her followers. Daddoa was one of the major personalities who popularized K-beauty on a global scale.

    While her Instagram page has since been deactivated, her YouTube page remains active with more than 1 million followers. She started her YouTube channel in 2012 and posted her first video two years later.

    Throughout her career, Daddoa also had 10 million annual visitors on the popular South Korean social media network Cyworld. She later earned a spot on the Cyworld TOP100 blogger list.

    In 2016, Daddoa was selected as one of MAC Cosmetics’ global heroes. She opened up about her decision to put off school and how she found a love for content creation.

    “I was completely overwhelmed by unending daily quizzes, tests, exams, evening self-study and so on! My home to me, at that time, felt like a place where I slept but didn’t live. I had a serious talk with my parents and finally decided to withdraw from high school. I had [a] very difficult time during the first half year because of my sense of guilt,” she recalled. “In an effort to overcome this, I decided to begin a beauty blog, and this became a turning point in my life and the point when I gained some degree of fame.”

    Daddoa also shared her thoughts on K-beauty becoming a global trend.

    “Now K-beauty is becoming known around the world, and more and more foreign viewers have also started loving K-beauty trends and tutorials. I believe this trend will keep developing,” she said. “Though K-beauty is known more for its light, practical style, as more colour cosmetics are developed by Korean companies for our generation, there will be a big wave of changes with colourful makeup.”
