On a franchise famous for fractured friendships and long memories, few relationships survive once the cameras stop rolling. That’s why Teddi Mellencamp says one of the most unexpected outcomes of her time on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills had nothing to do with drama at all.
In a new interview with Parade, Mellencamp opened up about the co-star who became a constant presence in her life long after her final season: Kyle Richards.
Asked how her former castmates have shown up for her during the last several years, Mellencamp said the support she’s received has fundamentally changed how she views the show and the relationships that came from it.

“Everybody has been so incredible. I joke when I walk into like BravoCon or something—I'm like, I don't even remember who I had beef with, and if I did, they don't have beef with me anymore," said Mellencamp with a laugh.
For Mellencamp, the familiar perception of Housewives feuds quickly faded when real life took over. During a prolonged hospitalization tied to her health battle, she says Richards became one of the people who refused to let her face it alone.
“Kyle was there with me in the hospital, like rotating in and out with a couple of my other friends, living there because nobody ever wanted me to be alone.”

That experience, she explained, reshaped her understanding of what the franchise gave her.
“So. I will forever be grateful that she's such a great friend and, like, people say, ‘Housewives, oh it's all about the drama and the scandal,'" said Mellencamp.

“But, like, I met my best friend there, and she takes abundantly good care of me, and I'm forever grateful," said Mellencamp.

Mellencamp appeared as a main cast member on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills from 2017 to 2020 and has remained closely tied to the Bravo universe through her podcast Two T’s in a Pod. Her bond with Richards, however, has only deepened since stepping away from the series.
Earlier this year, Mellencamp marked Richards’ birthday with a heartfelt Instagram tribute, reflecting on how what began as a natural connection on the show evolved into what she described as an unbreakable sisterhood.
"From the moment we met on the show, there was a natural connection. But now, after everything, there’s a sisterhood that can’t be broken," wrote Mellencamp. "I’m so grateful for the support, encouragement, and love that you bring, no matter what life throws our way. I probably wouldn’t be writing this if it weren’t for you."
