The search continues for Savannah Guthrie's mom, Nancy Guthrie, who went missing sometime between Saturday, Jan. 31 and Sunday, Feb. 1. Authorities believe that Nancy, 84, was kidnapped from her Arizona home in the middle of the night.
Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos has confirmed that Savannah's older sister, Annie Guthrie, was the last person to see their mother. The two had dinner together on Saturday night and Annie had dropped Nancy back home afterwards. It is unknown if the dinner included Annie's husband, Tomasso Cioni.
“We have a start point,” Nanos told Us Weekly. "The family took her home from dinner at about 9:30 to 9:45. So we would back that up to even say 9 or 8:30 p.m. to start looking."
On Wednesday, Feb. 4, former NewsNation reporter Ashleigh Banfieldshared some unverified information on her podcast, Drop Dead Serious.
Banfield claims that there was more than one camera at Nancy's home that was "smashed," presumably by whoever is responsible for her disappearance. She also said that the cameras at the home were made by the Nest company.
Banfield went on to say that her "law enforcement source" told her that Annie Guthrie's car has been seized by authorities. She went on to say that her source claimed that there was some connection between the car and Annie's husband. Careful with her words, Banfield said that the family is always vetted in cases such as these.
"These are just musings and not evidence," Banfield said.
