PERINTON, N.Y. — Salt Restaurant in Perinton will reopen on Wednesday, two weeks after a car crashed into its kitchen and caused serious damage.
The restaurant on Pittsford Palmyra Road made the announcement on its Instagram, saying it will reopen at 4 p.m. The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is still searching for the driver, who took off after the crash.
News10NBC spoke wth restaurant owner Whitney Sienkiewicz, who said no staff or patrons were hurt. However, the back right wall was entirely ripped away, appliances were tossed on the floor, and support beams snapped into pieces.
“It was devastation. I mean, there was debris everywhere. A gaping hole in the side of a restaurant that we poured our livelihood into,” Sienkiewicz said.
Repairs started soon after the crash to restore the wall and seal the hole.
