Funeral service for Mrs. Rebecca Ballinger Squires will be 12:00 Noon Monday, February 2, 2026, at Immanuel Baptist Church with Bro. Mark Caruth and Pastor Jeff Pratt officiating. Interment Brush Creek Cemetery. Visitation Sunday 2-6 PM at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home and Monday 11-12 at Immanuel.
Mrs. Squires, age 93 of Lebanon passed away January 29, 2026, at her home.
Born September 6, 1932, in the Rome Community of Smith County, she is the daughter of the late Richard Henry Ballinger and Maggie Lou Litchford Ballinger. Over the years, she had worked at the Lebanon Woolen Mill, McDowell Motor Company, Hartmann Luggage, and J. R. Hobbs & Sons Realty and Auction. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of over sixty years, Fred W. Squires on May 11, 2011; and two sisters, Infant Sadie Roberta Ballinger and Katherine Hunter.
She is survived by two children: Larry W. (Linda) Squires and Sandra J. (Bob) Derryberry; three grandchildren: Kelly Derryberry, Cheryl Bates and Christy Wills; great grandchildren: Callie & Carson Bates and Eli & Eden Wills.
Pallbearers: Larry, Brian & Brad Blackburn, Ricky & Bobby Hunter, Richie Hawkins, Daniel Frizzel, and Carson Bates.
Memorials may be made to the Lottie Moon Offering.
