Here’s every SEC player who made Baseball America’s preseason All-America team

The SEC is known for being the premiere conference when it comes to baseball, and the conference once again figures to be among the best when it comes to the 2026 season.

Baseball America has released its preseason All-American team, and to no one’s surprise, the SEC has six players who qualified for first-team honors:

Chris Rembert, Auburn, 2B Ace Reese, Mississippi State, 3B Derek Curiel, LSU, OF Liam Peterson, Florida, SP Gabe Gaeckle, Arkansas, SP Carson Wiggins, Arkansas, RP

The SEC was also well-represented on second and third-team All-America squads, with players such as Alabama‘s Justin Lebron and Texas A&M‘s Shane Sdao earning recognition.

Rembert burst onto the college baseball scene as a freshman last year, as he hit .344 with 10 home runs. He continued that strong play in the summer, as he was the second baseman for Team USA.

Reese was in his first year at Mississippi State, and the Houston transfer instantly provided the Bulldogs with a major bat in their lineup. He finished last season with 18 doubles and 21 home runs, and also has experience playing first base and left field.

Curiel had a terrific first year for LSU, as he finished with a .345 average to go along with 20 doubles. He is making the move to centerfield this season, and is a guy who could propel himself up the 2026 MLB Draft.

Peterson has the size that scouts want in a starter, as he stands at 6-foot-5, 220 pounds. Last year, he did a very good job of controlling his pitches better, as he shrunk his walk percentage from 13.5% to 10.5%.

Gaeckle started his career at Arkansas as a reliever, but last season he became a starter for the Razorbacks. He is the opposite of Peterson, as he stands at only 6-foot. However, he has a lot of different pitches in his arsenal and has the ability to be a true ace for the Razorbacks.

Wiggins showed a ton of potential to start his career last year at Arkansas, but his season was cut short with an elbow injury. His availability for the 2026 season is in doubt, as he is expected to miss a decent portion of the season with an injury.

The college baseball seasons officially gets underway on Feb. 13.
